There is no way in the world I can operate a “pop culture” website and not address all the adjacent news in the past week. I have a policy of not talking about drama related stuff, so I’ll absolutely do my best to condense it as much as possible. But the long and short of it is that one of the biggest vtubers is “moving on”, 4chan gets exposed, and absolutely everyone has no idea what is going on with the tariff situation in regard to pricing of any products. The above video is related to a talking point I have even though it’s a bit older, featuring SmugAlana. More details in the audio portion, but it’s been a handful to say the least.

In an ever-growing escalation of YouTube trying to be the most annoying platform out there, they’ve recently stepped-up measures to block 3rd party apps or other methods of saving videos or watching videos privately. It’s always a cat-and-mouse game with them, and at the moment there are few options available without using a throw-away google account. Cobalt-Tools is a very ambitious (but amazingly awesome) site that allows you to privately save videos off YouTube if you need to. Feel free to donate to the cause if you use the website a lot, as it helps.

Came across this track amongst the chaotic week, and it had enough of a chilled vibe to make it to my recommendations list. The song is quite dynamic, with the first half of the song being very different from the 2nd half, which is cool in itself. And personally, the 2nd half is kind of fire, and I wish the whole song had that vibe from the start. Credit to 2NATURAL, Lama, Wendy Wang. By the way, if you’re trying to save songs offline via YouTube, you need to use the full link and not embedded links (like what you see above). Just a heads up if you get an error using a site like Colbalt Tools.

I know it’s strange for my regulars to put gacha gaming news at the end of the update, but this news isn’t really a “new” thing, as it’s an update to a game I’ve mentioned here before. Horizon Walker is implementing a “very requested” feature that a lot of fans have been looking for, and I’m just here to say I applaud the developers for understanding their demographic. This is a good example of business minded folks who understand the concept of reading the room. This skill has apparently been lost in the AAA gaming industry as of late. Also, as much as I love monster waifus, the recently released chubby nerd waifu “Berga” has me thinking of starting the game back up again.

Artist is Honkibooty

Artist of the week is Honkibooty bringing us a fitting tribute to the graduating Gawr Gura. Naturally I’ve never been a fan of petit characters in general, so I’m glad Honkibooty agrees with me and puts his interpretation of Gawr in a much more mature form. Support the artist on their Patreon, or at least send them a nice word on their social.
